Art, like life, allows room for trying new things.  Do you know that feeling you get when you put yourself out there and try something you’ve never done before?  What about the feeling when you succeed at it as well?  It’s such an awesome feeling.  It’s something I should probably try and experience more often.  I tend to stay in my safe little cocoon, and it becomes extremely repetitive.   However, I stepped a little (no extremes here) outside the box with this painting.  I experimented with the background.  I really like how it turned out.  It’s hard to see in pictures.  So much better in person.   Also, I dared to actually paint the face with paint instead of colored pencil (my safe place).  I love how the face turned out.  Guess what…….I’m going to be using paint on faces much more often.  I hope you like the results as much as I do.
